F1 2019: Brazilian GP - São Paulo (Nov 17)

not one of my favorite tracks but Interlagos hosted many dramatic races in the past and track's energy is always quite high which is superb.. posting last year's race and few other videos from the past as well to recall..

Ayrton Senna. Nigel Roebuck, ex editor-in-chief of MotorSport magazine said he was the most complex character he ever encountered in the sport. After he met him he couldn't get him out of his mind and was present at nearly all of the 161 races that Senna competed in.

Ferrari in trouble in Brazil..

Charles spec-3 engine was damaged pretty badly in the US , and it was replaced by the older spec-2 engine to avoid a grid penalty .
For the next 2 races his older spec-2 engine is actually end of lifetime and no longer reliable .

If his spec-3 engine is not repairable , it must be replaced by the 2020 spec-4 engine .

Option 1 - Replace the old spec-2 engine and get a grid penalty
Option 2 - Keep driving with his dead pony

I wonder which team will be accosted by bandits this year!

Also one of my favorite tracks race-wise but I fear for the teams' safety off track.

All that said I have to love the place because my car is Interlagos Blue.

Last I read, Ferrari is still investigating what the cause of the engine issue was. They havent completely written it off yet. I do hope its an issue they can fix, running an older spec engine would be a bit of a handicap for the remaining two races

Same here, I really do enjoy this track. Make sure to catch the race this year though as it may be the last. Brazil is still trying to push through with building a new track in Sao Paulo that would sadly take place of Interlagos for the foreseeable future.

As much as I am NOT a fan of Bernie, I really do hope he still has some clout and will find a way to keep the race at Interlagos. He was always praised for making great deals that benefited him and his partners. Considering he owns Interlagos, I hope its reason enough for him to fight to keep the race there.

It was a hydraulic leak and if Maranello can rectify it then better for Lec,it depends if there was anymore accompanying damage when he slowed.

Two years ago a group of Merc people were robbed on the Friday at gunpoint with one of the team having a gun held to his head. Following that the next day there was attempted robbery of Sauber people, their van was hit late but they kept driving and escaped as already advised by Sao Paulo police. It may be Interlagos's last GP because of this reason and for sure if it happens again this weekend.

I hope I'm wrong, but I don't think the issue will go away by moving the race to another location. It's a band aid fix at best because the government isn't addressing the core issue that causes these robberies in the first place. Then again, the scale of corruption in the government is so widespread that it's not much of a surprised that much hasn't been done to address the core of the issue.

Now Ferrari are saying he'll use a 2020 engine and with that engine he will make up for the 10 place grid penalty. This will be a glimpse of what we will see next season.

Indeed (check my post in # 4) If the spec-2 engine is not repairable , they will replace it with the 2020 spec-4 engine with a grid penalty included ...

Thats not quite what he said. He said that he would have pushed Hamilton harder than his previous teammates. There's a big difference.

That being said, it shouldn't come as a surprise when a driver makes a remark that's similar to the former or latter. They have to constantly sell themselves in hopes of remaining relevant and getting better opportunities in the future. Admitting you couldn't do a better job than another driver wouldn't do anyone any good. That's why I tend to ignore these comments for all the drivers and not read much into them.

The Dutch article said it otherwise . It was the title of the article (Please use Google-Translate) => https://racingnews365.nl/ricciardo-i...n-een-mercedes .
*Ik had Hamilton wel verslagen in een Mercedes* In English => *I had defeated Hamilton in a Mercedes*

Perhaps Ricciardo is looking for attention

Hmmm, thats interesting to see, thanks for clarifying. I'm assuming one got lost in translation in that case. I can link the article in English that I read if anyone is interested.
