DEF removal quesiton (tank under air intake)

Hi, I have a 2011 X5 35D that I deleted a couple weeks ago (DPF, DEF, swirl flaps, EGR) My question is, with all the guides and videos i've seen on the process, I've never see anything about the DEF fill/tank that's on the driver side that's hidden under the air intake snorkel. I ask because I'm getting a humming noise that comes from that area and i was wondering if there was anything that i'm missing, and if it's worth it to get the rest of that out of there.
