Congrats on your new ride, I picked mine up cheap too. 50is are usually cheaper then other models as everyone is afraid of the engine. I have 167,000 miles on my 12 50i original engine, still runs low 4 second 0-60 and mid 12 second quarter miles with ESS tune. Not to bad considering it's nearly 10 years old 5300lb tank. Since you have new engine you are solid, change oil to liquid moly leichtlauf 5-40 immediately, use 1.5 cans of ceretec. change oil every 5k miles, don't go longer, the n63/s63 CCV system is crap and oil dilution is an issue if you go past 5k. Change your diff, transmission, and transfer case oil if you haven't already and enjoy another 100k+ miles.
Things to watch for: Coils and plugs High pressure fuel pumps Injectors. If all those are new then nothing to worry about. If they were from original engine then I would replace coils and plugs soon, be ready for injectors soon if they are not index 12. Hpfp's can give issues after 130k. I'm assuming your CCV lines are new, they usually require replacement every 70k miles. Last edited by Sophisticated Redneck; 03-12-2021 at 02:27 PM.. |
