Need new spark plugs
So I need new spark plugs, but heard getting 1 step colder is recommended, since I'm going to be running the racechip RS tune, with a BMS intake. Future mods include downpipe and reinforced chargepipe.
What kind of spark plugs will give me the best performance with the tune? and ignition coils? 2013 x5 xdrive35i e70 w/ Racechip RS and BMS intake. |

It's not about performance. It's about longevity.
Copper < Platinum < Iridium < Ruthenium. My vote is the Iridium as the best middle road in price and performance. Yes one step colder, also a tightening of the gap a bit more than factory recommended spec. |

will 2 step colder spark plugs be bad for my car/engine if i revert back to stock? or should I stick with OEM spark plugs for my racechipped n55? I heard oem's can blow up easily with racechip/piggyback tuned engines.

I have mine gapped at 0.020 as well with the ESS tune.
If the tune is removed, would that cause any problems with plugs that are gapped that way and 2 steps colder? |
