The Phoenix e70 x5m Build

Long story short:
A few years ago I bought an e70 x5m
2.5 months later I slid on black ice, and a truck negligent-ly finished it off.

Youtube playlist:
E70 x5m Build #2: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?lis...Zhi8CcUepWE-WS

Long story long:

So last week, I flew a few states over and bought a previously crashed e70 x5m

Pretty much starting from if the truck didn't my x5m .

Anyhow, flew out, bought it (foolishly) then stressfully drove it home in pretty much 12.5hrs of traffic.

Got it home and went to work.

Already had rk carbon intakes, and a bunch of other parts waiting (or being shipped).
Car was "tuned" by previous owner. (Unsure what tune)
Has an xhp trans flash (not sure the settings yet, waiting for xhp to transfer the vin to me).
And a metric-fckton of codes.

I'm not a mechanic, I'm an idiot.

So majority of the work will be done at shops.

Plans:
Fix the issues
- needs left side wheel speed sensors and that should clear up the current driving issues
-- somehow I fixed the power steering and 360 camera
- cic controller replacement

Future mods:
22x10.5 22x12.5 wheels
Either bags or kwv3 w/ edc
Custom exhaust with double or triple xpipe
Methanol for cooling
Custom tune , with flames because it looks cool on video
Aero
- front lip, side skirts, custom rear diffuser, middle wing
Digital dash
Steering wheel
New front screen
Rear entertainment
Possibly paint the car jet black

Will update with pics, tune in and watch my YouTube videos for faster and more frequent updates.

Today, I went to the e85 station
Added 2.5 gallons to 3/4 of a tank.
Burbles sounded a tad more aggressive.

When I got home, while trying to code the cic controller
I cleared the codes for the controller, and somehow cleared the codes for the drivetrain.

2 left hand wheel speed sensors are not reading.
- I ordered one front and rear
Hopefully when I replace them, clear the codes again, and program them. The vehicle will drive.

Currently it is in some sort of limp mode where It seems as if it's trying to spin the wheels, but doesn't accelerate.

Revs freely in park. But not in drive.
Was driving before.
Still has a plethora of faults which I won't clear till atleast after I get the new wheel speed sensors in and have em installed.

Hoping that will solve the issues because I took my cl63 off the insurance and I HATE that car. Can't wait for it to sell so I can put that money aside.

Last night after work 06/25 I changed the wheel speed sensors. Same issue. But I knocked something off the list.

Will be dropping it off to a shop tomorrow morning for diagnostics and sorting it out with the mechanic.

Hopefully it's something coding related, or a simple fix so I get the car back for the weekend. I'd love to have the car back for the weekend if possible lol.

Will consistently be dropping videos regardless. Have lots of parts still coming in. The missing rear flare. Turbo parts. Exhaust parts. Will be ordering coilovers or bags soon.

Much, much more.

Mon, July 1st update

Ordered a set of BC Coilovers. Likely going to upgrade to 18k springs front and rear. (Free upgrades to 18k). Then eventually get a bag conversion. But I'll grab wheels and stuff first. Will likely wait till October to bag the car. Unless a crazy deal comes up.

The past week, the car got dropped off at the shop. Getting diagnosed, hopefully sorted this week so I can get to driving.

Ordered turbosmart vr9 dual port diverter valves. But only one was in the box, so I'm waiting for that to get shipped out.

Will be dropping more updates as things progress.

Update July 11:

With my day off being Thursdays I took some time to stop by the shop, pay a deposit, and install some parts.

The turbosmart vr9 diverter valves are a great mod for x5m's or any compatible vehicle. Super easy install. Like 10 mins if you have the right tools and your intakes/covers are already off.

Wonderful because it was blisteringly hot today.
[diverter valves sound](https://youtube.com/shorts/1dcLGsBxh...HO4WqvkU24WHLt)

Anyhow, I ended up going with 14k rear springs so far because I found that the stock springs are 9k and not 12k. The website had e53x5 bc coilover specs not e70 x5m.

I was going to do KW till I saw that the edc module was just a delete, kwv3 for the e70 x5 does not have the module that actually works with edc. So for almost $4.5k that is NOT worth it to me. I'm not the biggest fan of BC coilovers. But I do plan to get c2b bags and convert this car to air. So they'll be good enough.

8/6/2024 Update

Got the rear-front bushing inserts. Had the rear-rear inserts. ⏸️
Instructions weren't clear.
Package says 2 per car - 2 in this pack.
But yeah, new subframe is in, and all the parts seem like they're good to go. So hopefully the mechanic can get this thing done this week and we get back to content

8/18 update: more things were found to be bent and not actually changed like the seller disclosed. So more parts had to be changed. Should hopefully be getting the x5m back between 8/19 and 8/22 .

Will be updating things with the bc coilovers and other parts that were said to fit, but don't actually fit without modifications.

Update: 8/06/2024

I got the x5m back, huge repair bill including parts I bought as mods. But it's back and being driven. Going to dial in the exhaust, tune, and aesthetics.

Check the youtube channel for the first terrible video. I accidentally deleted the wrong clips like an idiot.
