X5M Stalling on Starting

Hi,
I have a 2010 E70 X5m. When I start the car it revs up to 1000rpms then it dies. I start the car again and it revs up again then dies and then it gradually revs again .It does this 4 or5 times. Once it is going it is fine and doesn't miss a beat. Can someone tell what they think it is.
Regards William

Any codes?
Sounds like it is losing fuel pressure when it sits, and the in tank pump has to build pressure again.

Surging usually is a result of a fuel or air imbalance on all or one cylinder. Sounds like the engine is hunting for its idle speed based on parameter input. I would check for vacuum leaks and pull codes to see if you are running rich or lean. Also I would bet when the car is warm and not in closed loop it doesn’t do this at all or as much.
