Broken Parking Brake
So today while parking the X inside the garage, the little button/lever for the parking brake just popped off. I did it so easily, I thought i could just put it back, and realized it had snapped. Do I have to do anything special to replace the switch assembly, or is it just plug and play?

It's a pretty common failure as these vehicles get older. Here's a couple DIYs - it's really simple to replace.
Here's the part you need - your local dealer will probably charge more, but no shipping. https://www.getbmwparts.com/oem-part...ol-61319148508 While you're in there, is your chrome trim ring on the Navigation control warped? Very common issue, I wish that I'd ordered a new ring while I had the console piece removed. I'm referring to #4 in this diagram - http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/show...diagId=65_1711 |
