So that means it's not burning coolant, it's burning oil through the valve stem seals but it's not that bad if you are only burning a little for now.
But it will worsen as time goes, I'm on the same boat as you are. I burn about 1/2-1 Qt every 1500-2000 miles and only get puff of smoke when I free rev the car after an extended idle of 5+ minutes.
