no, the cover stays open, the charger little too big as well it needs to be plugged in to 12v which also takes some space.
from what I've seen there are more options now and you might be able to find something that will work or fit little better, as I mentioned in my previous post I used something that I had for awhile and it wasn't originally intended for the car!
