Scaley......I have the same vehicle and at 90,000 km replaced the pads for the first time....the front rotors as far as BMW are concerned, should be probably be replaced (not happening)... but I’m not bothering... I don’t track the vehicle and the new BOSCH pads bedded in perfectly....I did not have the rotors turned.
Our brakes are very easy to work on, I have stripped and cleaned and serviced twice - never had a problem with brake squealing. In the UK/Europe you have quite a few rotor options available.... that are not easy to get in North America...As for EBC/ USR options...forget it... they have not made any for two years - and the company just spin bullshit when asked.
If your rotors are not badly worn... change up the pads... and clean everything if not already done...
The X6M is one of the easiest vehicles I have owned to do basic maintenance on... and enjoy doing it..
