SO I brought my 2013 X5 50I to the dealership today. I posted in another thread that I needed an oil change , rattling noise in the front, and had 2 reduce engine failures in the last month while getting in the highway. I bought it in 2016 with 32K miles and just hit 60K. They said there is a bulletin for X5 50I that there is an excessive oil consumption problem with those engines. They put in on a lift and found multiple oil leaks. She said I am the first one to bring in this X5 with this issue, but there is a possibility that the engine might need to be replaced. She said they would replace it, but I MIGHT need to pay for some of it. I said Why would I have to pay for anything if it is an issue BMW knew about and need to replace the engine?? She is not sure since I am the first she has come across. She will see what she can do. I can't believe it. Has anyone come across this?
I just found this-
