I personally HATE HATE HATE the HPS pads. But do like the HP Plus. lots of dust, spongy feel, low initial grab on the HPS. Everything wrong about a pad. Never tried the new 5.0 compound yet. May not ever actually...
Carbotech pads are often used on tracks, not so much street. lots of auto-x'ers like them. With that compound you could totally use them on the street, especially when talking about a 5000+lbs vehicle.
A whiles back I had to choose on my old track car between those and Porterfield's. I went with the porterfields. I think I would have been fine either way though.
