From reading other threads on the CCV system, I believe the ribbed design of the OEM hose is deliberate and helps separate the oil, so the system may not work as intended with smooth hose. I’d defer to others more knowledgeable though.

I bit the bullet and replaced all hoses for $600, dealer near me had them on hand.
