Wow, I thought mine were bad when I replaced them last weekend. Mine were leaking and able to be spun from almost every joint.
From reading other threads on the CCV system, I believe the ribbed design of the OEM hose is deliberate and helps separate the oil, so the system may not work as intended with smooth hose. I’d defer to others more knowledgeable though.
