Question Disc & Pad Advice for 2013 BMW X6M

Hi Guys,

I'm a Brit but currently living in Poland and this is my first post here from me so thanks in advance for any generous replies to my question.

I am about to replace all discs and pads on my 2013 E71 X6M. I've had the car a couple of years and I have to say I've been less than impressed by the genuine discs and pads on the car, they squeak constantly..more so in reverse but it is bloody annoying.

I was thinking of replacing them with non genuine (aftermarket) products. I noticed that the original discs are listed as "lightweight" by BMW but when visually compared with an aftermarket drilled and grooved set they just don't look up to much at all.. they aren't drilled and grooved.. they just look plain and very standard. Im not an expert or that mechanical as you can probably tell. To me the aftermarket discs and pads look better and cost less?!?

My mates M5 on 2012 has epic discs on it as standard, drilled and grooved..and on some kimd of spring system so why are mine like 2 lumps of steel??

I've been told (by another mate but he's an Audi man) not to mess around just stick original Beemer discs and pads back on it.. but what are people's thoughts on here?

I would be very interested to hear from anyone who owns the same car and has replaced discs and pads with aftermarket ones.

Any links or advice to aftermarket sets would be greatly welcome.. so far I've scanned eBay and lijd the look of a brand called Rottinger and there is a "Brembo" set on there but I have not really done much else.

Thanks

C Coleman
