That site has good info, thanks. I'm not sure if the seals are common for failure. I think most feel that if they have easy access to it why not replace it especially since there are procedures to do so.
It may not be necessary to replace those items. Though most DIY like to replace rubber components and gaskets if they're planning to keep the car long-term. If I was paying a shop for the fluid replace, I would have them only replace the filter.
