I really like the display unit. There are a lot of mixed reviews about these devices, but I've generally not had any of the issues others have experienced. The unit isn't perfect, and it does glitch out on me every once in a while - but not frequently enough for me to not like it. You have to go into it expecting to have to tinker with the configuration and updates on it.
The primary two reasons I installed it were that it's one of the only ways to get Apple CarPlay in this age BMW (without doing some crazy & expensive retrofitting), and, it is a huge improvement on the screen size/resolution/vibrance.
People who ride in mine and don't know the differences between X5 generations (non-BMW enthusiasts), typically guess it is under 5 years old. The screen brings the interior up to a near-new look. I do keep it immaculately clean, which helps too, obviously. |
I hear you man I keep mine spotless my interior looks brand new I use BMW leather lotion on the interior about once a month, That's why I want the screen itll update the look inside alot! I dont mind to tinker with the unit so it sounds like i might just get it
