This is what I gather from all of this:
For the front differential, I will use: 33117695240 which was superseded by
83222365987 (75w-90). This is for cars built up to 7/2011. After 7/2011, BMW went to Hypoid Gear Oil - 83222295532 (75w85).
Near as I can tell, these are also the oils called "SAF XO Burmah Castrol” in the listed documents (TIS / Shopkey in above posts) and good for the rear differential, too.
For the other oil called "SAF carbon mod," I will use 83 12 0 445 832 (75w85). Also, for the rear differential.
Thoughts?
I can't imagine a more convoluted picture of differential oils than BMW has "designed" here.
