We have a 2010 X5 3.5d with 46,000 miles and I've averaged 21.3 MPG over the past 12 months. We do 70% HWY and 30% city. Honestly, I like the way the non-D car drives better, but appreciate the mileage and eco benefits. Can't beat 500 miles to a tank
