Have been reading about the slight problem Max had with his car after the pit stop. Tanabe was saying he was lucky the problem remained small as it could have escalated into a bigger one and the final adjustment just made it a little better.
It may have been a throttle positioning sensor error which will thus affect the engine braking and Max applied mind over matter to conquer it.
On my previous Merc Sport once after starting engine there was no response from it just stuck on tick over.After switching it off then on again it cleared.
