Currently has 121,000 miles. Has been burning oil significantly since I purchased the car as a cpo 5 years ago. Typically add a quart every 500 miles.

Was in for service at dealer last month at 119,900 miles and they offered me a new motor for $7,500. I chose not to buy the engine. I probably would have for $3,000. The car has been very reliable for me the last 5 years. I've put on over 70,000 miles. I don't like the oil mess on the back of my alpine weiss x5, nor do I care for the constant smoke out of the tailpipes. Adding oil is kind of annoying, but overall it's been pretty good. I plan on driving it until it gives up.
Mine was a bit worse, about a Quart every 350-400 miles (have 144,000) and huge plume of smoke at every stop light, but with catch-cans and adjusting the crank-case pressure to a negative 8 psi made all the difference, now only burn a pint every 1200-1500 miles (depending how hard I drive it) and no more smoke out the pipe at stops. Its not a bad job to do but is time consuming and will kill an entire day to set it up and about 300 dollars in parts to do it right. Well worth it though. You will also notice a nice boost in throttle response and power off the line.
