Yeah, I don't have a diesel, but my 35i has done this to me a few times. Always a little scary. Most times I've been able to just restart the car and it seems fine. Recently this happened to me and it seemed as though I couldn't do anything with it. Was on a major road and the car was basically in neutral. Went into a side street and had to restart it while I was rolling. Car didn't want to park or anything. Very strange, always a little scary.
