Ok everyone, we are onto the latest version of the iOS (iPhone, iPad) App, which is now 7.x!

This new version has a new underlying architecture so there were a ton of changes that went into it from the already solid 6.x base, but time marches on and alot of small little updates were needed here and there so they all got rolled into this at once.

Now, because there were so many underlying changes done, there are likely to be an INCREASE in bugs relative to the 6.x version. I tried my best to make the app look identical to the 6.x version, but rest assured huge portions are just brand new.

So as usual, as you see the bugs (or if you want to see new features added into the app), this is the place to do it. Im all ears. Development of the 7.x series of the app is working in tandem with the new beta bimmerpost sites https://www.e90post.com/beta/showthr...s-new-requests

When they come from "no-reply" clicking on the link in the thread never takes me to the first unread reply and now, with the new site redesign, I don't see any link to jump to the first unread like there used to be. Never complained before because that extra click was a quick workaround.

When they come from "admin" the link works correctly and takes me to the first unread.

Additional extra note if interest. The link php arguments seem to be the same regardless of "no-reply" or "admin". The only thing that changes is the emails from "no-reply" like to www.bimmerpost.com while the "admin" emails link to g45.bimmerpost.com.

No idea what the solution might be. Hoping it's something simple.

to stop the BimmerPost website from opening the app on your phone, Android users should go to Settings > Apps > [BimmerPost App] > Open by default and toggle off "Open supported links". iPhone/iOS users can long-press the link in Safari and select "Open in New Tab" to avoid launching the app

Android Instructions
  • open Settings on your phone
  • navigate to Apps (or "Apps & Notifications")
  • find and select the BimmerPost app in the list
  • look for Set as default or Open by default
  • title off "Open supported links" or change "Open web addresses" to "Don't open in this app"
  • alternative: use a browser like Firefox and go to Settings > Advanced > Toggle off "Open links in apps"
iPhone (iOS) Instructions (iOS does not have a direct setting to stop specific websites from opening apps)
  • Long-press the link you are trying to open
  • selected "Open in New Tab" or "Open" from the context menu
  • alternative: if the app opens, immediately look at the top left of the screen and tap the "Back to Safari" button to restrict it from doing so in the future
