Rear Bike Rack - what works

Need to take 3 bikes and want to put them on the back of X6. Does anyone have experience with something that works with or without a hitch. I'd prefer no hitch.

I use the Saris Bones, 3 bike rack. It straps on to the rear hatch and you can raise and lower with it attached. I wouldn't do it with the bikes on however, it will probably blow the hatch motor. I tried for a roof version but it would be $$$$
