Anyone know how to take off the Aluminum plate on the Running Boards?
Hi Everyone,
I've been looking all over and cannot seem to find it. What is the method to remove the aluminum plate from our OEM running boards? Does anyone know? Any tips or tricks would be appreciated. Btw, this is for a 2012 x5 35i. Thank you in advance.

You have to remove the running boards all-together to get the aluminium plates off. All but the support that bolts to the frame/body. Maybe an hour or 2 of your time if you're handy. GL!

Yeah, I installed my running board and the way that aluminum plate is held in by 4 screws and I think there is a plastic wedge underneath it to keep it in place. So yeah unfortunately you have to remove the running board and partially undo the wheel arch as well. Where the running board and wheel arch meets together just pop a couple of plastic rivets so you can access the bolt to undo. It's not too bad it'll take a couple of hours for sure GL
