What do you mean when you say 'too much car for her'?

I never understood that.
I understand when an adult says it's too much car for his son/daughter, but a car being too much for a grown adult...?

She can't modulate the throttle? Is the gas pedal either completely up or completely to the floor?

Here is another scenario:

Don't you think an X6 (I'm guessing you got the 5.0) with 40hp more than stock should also come with larger rotors to reduce the stopping distance? In this case, wouldn't the X6M be a better choice since it can handle better and stop faster than the rest of the X6's?

It's fine if you really wanted that exact car/combo/etc. but I just don't understand why someone would say 'it's too much car' for a grown adult that can make the right decision.

No, but with that logic, you don't need a 440hp performance edition X6 5.0 to go to the gym either. lol

I like the car, but I wish the performance pkg was just something that came with a ~$2k M-sport pkg, not a whole limited edition and pricy deal.

Anyway, was it hard to get? Did you have to jump on it as soon as it came out?

LOL, he said "excessive"...LOL (in the voice of cartoon TV characters)
Isn't a $75K car already pretty EXCESSIVE for a grocery getter doing Gym trips?
You are ALREADY BEING excessive (going 99 yards on the football field, why not take the one additional step?). Now, if your argument was that she doesn't WANT a stiff-as-a-board ride the M has or that all-season tires might work better on the Individual then I would understand but defending your decision based on excess is like Tiger Woods saying that 20 women was a "bit" excessive when he had a model wife at home...in short, ludachris

Wow, epic fail, the thought of ///M should never be associated with "foot rest."

I think this Performance Edition is a great mix of more power and exclusivity
You can't take into account a top model from a series and put no option on it

Agree, I liked the style 214 wheels the best.

That's interesting, put some 214s on with Pirelli Snow and Ice winter tires and it killed the overall look. I though the 214s would look better because they look so good on the X5.
Looking at Style 375 21 inch wheels for summer. Anyone running them?

Just an observation on what I consider a nice package. They should have included comfort seats . They make all the difference in the world IMHO

I would agree, the sport seats are ok but at this price the comfort seats would have been great. That's the problem with any special configuration. Wife loved the exterior color and how the car drove. You just can't get a M Package X6 with a performance upgrade in Pearl Silver under the Individual Program. The X6 Individual is pretty boring as a result. Hence the attraction of this particular special edition configuration.

I would have bought the M. This doesn't look very exclusive to me. Wouldn't turn my head and most wouldn't even know the difference between this and a normal X6. A heavily loaded X6 50i with M Performance Package hovers around 80K. Then have BMW do a custom paint job for 4-5k and you can have any color you want. A X6 50i M Sport in VO would be more exclusive. Yea...interior stitching this and +15 hp that...right lol. Not sure what this limited edition X6 is trying to say because it's not saying much.

I've seen one in person sitting here at a local dealership, it's a 35i, and I thought it looked great. The only issue with the one I saw, which I believe was a build error during production, is that it was missing a nav! That killed it for me right there.

The orange stitching on the leather/Alcantara seats looks really, really nice and the whole appearance of the interior and the exterior is very sporty. I like it a lot, I think BMW did a great job on this and the added HP makes it a better value still because even if you could configure a standard X6 to look this way, which you can't, you still wouldn't get the performance bump.

I'm not sure any BMW including an M is exclusive anymore. Free money makes them easy to lease or purchase. E70s are a dime a dozen and almost everyone has a 3.5 instead of at least a 5.0. The X6 benefits from being lower production but there are still quite a few X6 3.5s in the market. A loaded X6M stickers in the $102-$105 range. At least the ones I drove did an frankly not that impressed. They may have been set to granny mode by the dealer to avoid abuse during test drives. This will meet the need until the new X5/X6 comes out then I'll probably trade my F01 750i for something a little more aggressive like an X5M. I hope they push the envelop on the next generation. The current X5 doesn't look that much different than the first generation I owned years ago. To each his/own preferences. That's the great thing about BMW, lots of choices! Have owned everything from RR sport SC to Cayenne Turbo and the BMWs are just a lot more fun and/or are more reliable.

Actually I do understand this. My wife (who does like my X6) hated my M5 and my 550. Dare I say she found them "too responsive" for her tastes. She prefers a nice 328 or in her case, her MDX or her Mini Clubman. Her comment was "You step on the gas and it snaps your head back, you step on the brake and you go flying forward."

So I totally get the "too much car for her" comment.

Also, while I agree that this vehicle is priced way too close to the M version and the M version will probably be discounted and this one won't - this is still a classy vehicle to own and very very rare. If you have the means.....

I understand what you're saying, my wife says the same about my car. But if she drove it for a few days she got used to the throttle and the brake. It's all what you get accustomed to.

Completely agree with you. I bought my wife a 135i with the DCT transmission. I am starting to think she would have much preferred the regular automatic transmission. For city driving, it can get annoying.

Just because you are an adult does not mean you know how to properly and safely operate a car that is huge and has lots of power. I see grown adult idiots on the road every day that should not be operating a motor vehicle with even 20 hp.

Will all these fancy parts and extra $$ cure the hideous turbo lag and feeling that you are driving a yacht? I loath the day I decided to get my X6.
