I need advice on quick set up traction devices:
I am getting ready for weather in the Pacific Northwest. My winter weather is mostly rain, rain, and more rain……. with the occasional trip to the snowy mountains. I do not want to have winter for the 3 trips (average) to the snowy mountains. In the past (different vehicles) I would stop and wrestle with chains in the cold when the snow became deep. It was not a hassle to me as I was younger and did not mind it. I am a little bit older, and I do have kids in the car now, so a quicker set up will definitely help my back and sanity. For this reason I am looking for a traction device alternative for my new X5 (2012-35i Premium). Does anybody have good or bad experiences with the quick snap on traction devices? |

A little more research:
Even with snow rated tires I still need to carry chains (or equivalent equipment). Sources: http://web.oregon.com/roadcams/chains.cfm http://www.tripcheck.com/Pages/RCMap...cNav=ChainLaws http://arcweb.sos.state.or.us/pages/...4/734_017.html |
