Best way to wash K&N filters

Can I use regular soap, I dont have the K&N cleaner......

They recommend cleaning them with their proprietary lubricator/cleaner, which is actually an oil based product. They sell a pump and an aerosol, both run less than $15 and will last you forever.

personally I just replace the filters. Its a pain in the butt to wash, dry and relubricate them. and they never seem to be the same.
I would not replace them at regular Dealer Schedules, Infact i usually dont keep a car long enough to warrant cleaning or replacing them. But if I did, it would be a new set.
