19 inch tires - pot holes?

I currently have an 07 335xi with the 18 inch sport package wheels. I've replaced EIGHT of the 18 inch summer tires in the past 5 years because of pot holes bubbling the run flats. I'm considering an x5d and am wondering if the sport package 19 inchers (not 20s) might give me the same problem, or should I stick with the uglier-yet-more-rubber stock 18s?

The pot-holes on NYC area roads are killer...
