Retrofit Rear View Camera for 08 X5 in Los Angeles

Hello,

Just picked a 08 E70 and wanted to install a rear view camera, and I contacted Bimmer Tech, I received the following email"

Currently we only have the rear view camera for the CIC.
Your car has the CCC Navigation and the rear view camera is different.
o be honest the CCC camera is very poor and I would suggest considering updating to the CIC.

Questions I have are:

1) What do you think about the CCC-->CIC update ?
2) Do you know any OEM supplier for rear view cameras that work with CCC ?
3) For those who live in SoCal, do you know any shop that can help me with the installation ?
4) And I also consider PDC, what are your thoughts on retrofit PDC ?

I have the "old" OEM backup camera and although it isn't an award winner it still works well. If I could upgrade my whole I drive system to the latest I would but this camera is okay. I've seen aftermarket solutions but none will tie in to your existing nav screen unless you do the CIC upgrade which is pretty expensive. Then I would assume you would also have to wire the camera bits as well. Might be cheaper to just upgrade vehicles LOL.

Hey kazebimmer, did you find a good installer in Los Angeles? I was considering the CiC retrofit and I figured a person who can do a rear camera and PDC retrofit might be able to th CiC retrofit Install as well.
