Shouldn't affect warranty as it only takes 10 minutes to reverse the process.

By the way the the inner lights on the X5 headlight are used purely for lighting the rings, nothing else.

Got my rings shipped to the UK (damn - had to pay customs duty!!), but the rings look sweet. Had to put them in as soon as I got them, which was on a rainy day.

I found them a bit loose when I put them in and so jus put a small rubber tap washer at the base of the light to ensure they were in tight and not loose.

Well worth the price for the upgrade. Will finish the mode with some titanium grilles.

I installed the bulbs today. Thanks to the install guide it really was plug and play. Took me less than 10 minutes.
It looks awesome, just like rajindergill's picture shows.

Compared to my other Bimmer, an 2010 F10 535d with OEM bright white rings, there's hardly any difference.

This looks like a must have upgrade. The stock halogen angel eyes look terrible when u have cheaper cars rolling around with LEDs

In addition to the halo rings, does the Lux kit light the center projector lens as well or do I need to get separate color matching bulbs for that. I have a 2011 US spec X5 35d with yellowish rings and center projector lights up front (bi-xenon).

Some tips for the install. After you remove the factory bulb take a good look at the tab location, as there are two larger and one smaller tab. The new Lux LED bulb will need to match up with the factory bulb and go in the same way.

Once it is in you can only turn it about 1/4" with your finger, the final tightening still require some sort of pliers or channel lock. For the life of me I couldn't get it to turn with just my fingers. I guess this is what aftermarket means.

Also not sure where to stick the ballast, I guess just throw it in the space below? No instruction were included.

But all in and works great.

I realized that the only downside to installing this kit is that now my HID headlights looks very yellow in comparison...

Huh? In a xenon equiped X5s, the inner lens is purely there to light up the Halo DRL. The bulb you see in it, is the bulb for the Halo. They are not meant to project light forward.

For non-xenon equiped bulb, I know on the pre-LC1 models, this was the high-beam.

By the way, this is the case for Australia, which is very similar (if not identical) to European spec cars. Not sure about North American spec cars.

You can fix that by replacing your OEM HID bulb with a 6000 Kelvin rated HID bulb. From what I've read, 5000 to 6000 Kelvin is closest to white you can get. I believe the OEM HID bulb in the E70 is rated between 3800-4500 kelvin. Most car manufacturers with models that has HID headlights, use this rating as the norm.

Increasing the kelvin rating of your HID bulb won't produce any errors, as the wattage of the HID bulb remains the same as the OEM.

Avoid the temptation of going a higher Kelvin that 6000, or instead of white, the light outputs starts to get a tinge of blue. In short, the higher Kelvin rating you go the bluer the light output becomes. In my opinion. blue tinged lights are near useless in illuminating wet reflective roads at night. Needless to say, they're not very good (& safe) on rainy nights.

I've had 6000K HID globes on my 2008 E70 for a couple of years now and I've had no issues, and the car looks great especially when matched with LED Halos.

Love my LUX - kind of wish they weren't quite so "cool" and match the OEM colour a little better. The Xenon's look a little warmer than the rings now.

Just installed them. Was able to finally get it in there and turn it a 1/4" with my fingers. It took me forever to get it in there lol

My 6000k bulb for the headlight came in. Here is what they look like installed, a slight blue tint and definitely matches better with the LED angel eye ring.

Anyone got exact instruction's on how to fit the LED's in the head lights? I have them but no instructions came??? I can't even find where they go? X5 2008 twin turbo, right hand drive!
