HI simon---I'm a new X6 owner since last year....and I did the Continental Sports Contact...and my car was constantly pulling to one side....so i took it in and they said the alignment was correct....and overall i hated that style of tire.
My car did not like it either. Just did not ride as well as when i had the Dunlop Sports Maxx tire (that was my stock tire from BMW). I've been very happy with the Dunlop. I'm not a veteran at these things but I know when my car drove well vs when it didn't.

Hence, why I am worried about any Continental tire, but I trust what everyone else is saying about the Continental DSW.

You are welcome.

Sounds like we are even having a hard time getting the DSW tire here too.

Have you heard anything about the Pirelli Scorpion tire?

I don't know yet since I still have the original Bridgstone's that came with the car. They have 15K miles on them and I think I will get another 5K if I put them back on in the spring......Steve

I too have the dws and absolutely love them. The ride is so much more comfortable and road noise is barely noticeable. The quietest tyres I have experienced ever. My tyres are 275/315. Would buy again for sure.

I've had the Continental DWS Extreme's on now for a few weeks....

WOW!

Good as advertised. quiet and they are mean...almost feels like a springy type of shoe on your car.

I have X6m and want to ride on stock 300 20" in winter.

Have red everything but didn't understand perfectly wich tires are the best...
I live in Moscow where winter is really hard with lot's of snow and ice on the roads so the main point for winter tyres for me - is SAFETY and good braking on ice and snow.

Cpuld you please recomend me the best winter tyres for 300 style r20?

And next summer i will have 21" perhaps.. But not shure yet....SO i would be really happy if you recomend me summer tyres for sporty ride in both variants :

like 20' 300 style
and
21" oem wheels aswell.

Thks a lot. Best regards Victor

If you go with a winter tire you really dont want to run a 315 on the rear it will just ride on top of the snow..........Steve
Need some help with this - can you explain why 315s won't work in the winter and what my options are for dedicated winter tires.

Sorry, I wasn't clear before, do you guys think a 315 dedicated winter tire in the back would be a good choice (with a 275 winter tire in the front)?

I have the 315 back 275 front DSW's on mine, and the car did remarkably well during the Christmas blizzard.

Flip, I am so jealous
Tire rack told me they will have some in stock today (approximate). I have been checking my email constantly and wish that they will email me with the good news.

I have a feeling that it is going to snow soon (within weeks). I still have my dunlop RF summer tires on.....

I will pray for you.....those dunlop's in the winter is like Miss Piggy on ice skates. Ugh.
Hang in there.

the Continentals are great even in the winter. you have to call around more and not wait on tire rack.

I guess you are right. I followed up on tire rack. They said it has been delayed for another 4 or 5 weeks (originally they told me they would receive it by Jan. 7). I think when they receive it, it will be summer already!

I sent a message to Discount Tire Direct, and asked when they will expect their next shipment. Do you have any other retailer suggestions?

Just spoke with my dealer at BMW and was told that if I get non-RFT tires on my x6 they would not be covered by the tire & wheel warranty I got. What has everyone's experence been with the Continental DSWs in terms of damage? I got the warranty since our roads here in NY are pretty bad. I was thinking of getting continental DSWs but not sure if it's a great idea since they are not covered and also to replace one I may have to waot for months since they are on back order everywhere.

No. My advice, and this is what I did, was call around to some local tire places as they know "inside tire folks" (whatever that means) b/c they bargain with larger groups to get tires. they are so called tire hunters.
ask around and see if any one of them can direct or know who to contact for hard to get tires.
