2011 X5 w/ Stick Shift?

Hi,

would appreciate if someone would share any "rumors" if X5 will come out with a stick shift option in the near future. I am soon to be back on the market for another BMW but starting to feel that it might be a problem finding an SUV from BMW with stick shift. Any suggestions?

Thank you!

Manual tranny

Just bought a 2010 X5M.
I would have really liked a manual 6-speed.
In general, manuals represent less than 10% of sales typically, so I think they're a thing of the past except on some specialty cars.

Are these these cars also driven with automatic transmission in Germany? I find it hard to believe...
I just cannot understand the concept if we already getting this car as special order from Germany, why manual transmission is not an option?

I would think the resale opportunity for a stick-shift X5M would be very low. Most buyers of this vehicle will want the shiftable auto IMO. Unless one plans to keep the truck virtually forever, ordering a stick in it might not be wise.

With the direction the whole Auto industry is moving, you're not likely to see a manual transmission on these SUV's anymore; forget that, just look at Ferrari and Lamborghini dumping the manuals.

I'm pretty sure the Cayenne comes standard with a stick shift, and they charge an arm and a leg to get it in auto - like $4k I think.
