I have a spare tire in MY X6 50i with run-flats. It is just an option and I ordered this option because once I go thru my first set of tires I will order non-run flats the next time and want a spare in case of a flat.

+1 I ad a nail in my rear tire (20") and got it patched at the dealer's recommendation. I took it to discount tire.

A new run flat from the dealer was $600 installed. Discount wanted $525.

I can get similar tires in non-runflat for half the cost.

be careful. the suspension is tuned for run-flat tires, so using non-runflats will alter the way the car handles.

Wives tail. The difference is neglible and no different than running tires with 30psi vice 35psi. Don't listen to all the marketing hype.

"Tuned" to BMW means there is a cunt hair difference. The tell you it is a big deal because they have agreements with tire OEM's to encourage run flat replacements. Many people have dumped run flats and the only side affect was an extremely better ride and handling.

It will interesting to see how many they sell. Equipped like the X6 I have now would be over $100k.

Pricing seems pretty reasonable

This pricing seems totally reasonable, and a good deal compared to Porsche, partly depending what options they make standard. Window sticker on my well optioned 08 X5 had a base of $54,800 and SRP of $76,070. I would hope that around $10K of the options I have become standard on the X5 M at $85,400 and that with some new options added, hoping especially for Night Vision, that SRP comes in no more than $100K for a fully optioned ride.

I don't see that as an unreasonable premium for an SUV that can make it down my 4 wheel drive required dirt road AND do a 4.5 second 0-60! That is one hell of a sweet combination. I push my 08 4.8i to the redline every time I run out to the post office, can't wait for 200+ more ponies!

I was prepared to buy a $120K Cayenne, but I just couldn't get comfortable. I tried the X5 just to find a more comfortable seat, and I found it! Now, I'm excited to get performance on par with the Porsche and the comfort I've come to love and expect from the active ventilated seats.

Updated Info

Just finished talking to my sales adviser at the dealership this morning. Option pricing should hit in about 6 weeks with being able to order right after.

Not much demand for either, at least at our dealership. I am the first one to ask anything about either model. Hope to place an order for the X6M in a couple of weeks.

I have uploaded the most current BMW Dealer Bulletin.

More to follow...
