So I realllllllllly hate the new 370Z, it looks like an Egg with the front broken off.... and to much like a Maxima with its lights... but anywho... many on here like it and its expected to be a good competition against the 135i but I dont think the new Z has a chance... But heres a video of the 09 370Z getting dyno'd... it still puts A LOT LESS power (75hp less) than the 332hp Nissan claims but stock for stock the 135i (26 less than the claimed 300hp) is still pushing more power in both HP and TRQ... If these figures are correct then the much heavier Z370 should be a lot slower, is that theory/opinion correct?

If not then you really have to question the importance of dyno results because the only thing that can determine acceleration is traction+weight+power. The one with the most should always be quickest.

So according to these dyno results the 256hp Z is pretty much = to the 274hp 135 in the times category.
It shows claims are just that. Plenty of discussion about the true hp of the N54.

Unless they were both run on the same dyno on the same day, you can't really compare the results.

The times are very close, so I'm sure it's a drivers race. Both cars are awesome in their own way.

Right. I think the OP was just trying to stand up for his car of choice. And throw the Z under the bus a bit. Not a problem.
That is why there are thousands of different keys for people to choose from!
In the end OP, I think the Z has a very good chance.

Yeah, there's nothing wrong with saying you prefer the 135 over the 370z, but that doesn't mean the 370z is a bad car. Hell, I'd drive it, but it doesn't have a back seat.

I looked at a black/black touring 6 speed the other day. I like it. I had a 350 and found it a little cold feeling. It was ordered before any reviews were out. My bad. I will still demo the 370.

I drove one a few weeks back and loved it. Certainly a different beast than our cars, doesn't smoke the tires thru first gear like our cars when they get into boost unless you do a hard launch.
It felt about as quick as a stock 135i, I'd be interested if someone meets up at a dragstrip with one and see how they do against each other in the same conditions.
BTW, was the dynoed car an auto? That could explain a more severe drivetrain loss.
