I don't know what the Distronic does (electronic distance assist?!) but I already said on one topic here that Night Vision might be an option for the X6, too (with the better resolution and larger LCD screen) , and the lane assist that Audi offers as an option on the new A4 is another gadget that is helpful when we get tired and less attentive behind the wheel.

I mean why buy the new X6, if we just cared only about engine and tran performance??

There are so many muscle cars from the 60's out there. .no electronic gadgetry, just plain power. . .but still. .

There were other factors beside just performance for my decision comfort , handling,etc that you would not get in muscle car. To me the idrive is something I use to set things then forget about them (other than nav and service info) don't really care what color the screen is or how cute the UI is. so I wasn't going to wait until the latest version was available before getting an X6.Every electronic gizo generally will be replaced/modified by a new model every 14-18 months, I sure there will be even a newer idrive in the 2012 model.

On the night vision thing unless it displays via HUD wouldn't want it, anyone who's had a deer encounter understands looking down for a few seconds.

As far as why I buy the cars that I do it's because it's my money and it's what I like. I don't buy cars so other folks can tell me they approve.

As I said earlier it's a personal choice kind of thing, to each his own.
