need some help with brakes
so my Idrive says 1200 miles for the front brakes and the rears are still at 9k ? odd, but what ever, my real question is if by sight can any one tell me if these brakes are stock and they were painted or if they are some type of upgraded BMW option. i can find any brand markings, I need to order the pads front and rears (might as well do them all while its in the shop and before the sensor light comes on) and I'm leaning towards Akebono as the reviews hail the low dust and go with BOWA sensors. Any thoughts

I may opt to go with a cossdrilled and slotted rotor at some point, first test is with the pads i ordered which have reviews from many sites that say the brake dust is almost non existent, brand is akebono and they be in my hands tuseday!

Ill let you know for sure ! Apparently shops dont like it when you buy your own parts,i snubbed a least twice for installation even though i said they were upgraded, you'd figure this is how they make money, and earn a future repeat customer lmfao

Like showing up at a restaurant with your own steak. Not that hard to understand when you take the time to think about it.
When I have a client approach us to install their own equipment (HVAC & Refrigeration), I'm more than happy to oblige. I tack on 15 points on what their material would have cost me and there's no warranty to us to worry about on the clients parts. Win win...

The shop down the street from my work was happy to put them on and only charged labor, for all four rotors, pads and sensors installed i only paid 236, not to bad, went back to them again for a down pipe install and that only cost 150.

Yeah they are a big improvement from stock, the stop tech rotors and akibono pads are a good combo IMO, went two solid weeks and not a speck of break dust!!
