leather bolster damage

sorry if wrong section;

Anyway, noticed that my drivers side bolster (drivers seat) by the stitching is starting to strip, (white)

Now I don;t wanna repair it yet, I also don't wanna put a seat cover on (possibly), was thinking of putting (I use these words loosely,,,)

some kind of protection on that section, some kind of tape maybe.
as it's a vert, with the top down it will be visible,

any ideas, I can take a few pics when I get a chance

In some areas of the USA, there are "leather repair companies" who, for a reasonable fee, will repair your leather and make it look new.

I first used them about 25 years ago and a friend of mine recently used such a service for his Lexus leather.

They really do a great job of making it look new and matching the colors.....

You're referring to the lumbar support closest to the door correct?

I have the same issue. Slight wear on the leather causing colour loss right on the stitching.

I'm sure this can be dyed by a leather restoration professional.

Just for reference we are speaking about this item?

I brought mine back to the dealer for a warranty repair. I have SS and it had a spot that had worn away. They got this "leather repair guy" to paint it with some kind of dye. Looks brand new.

yep see, I know I could find somone to repair it,
but through use, it will go again,
so the only time I will repair it if selling or PX'ing with the dealer,
or it gets really bad,
just was thking about getting something to cover vthat section only
like a tape or something

Enter and exit the vehicle in a way that doesn't drag your ass over the bolster.

I did that with the E92m and the driver's bolsters looked great when i sold it with 78k miles on it.

OP's jean collection.

I'm pretty sure OP has been in OT enough to not take this personally.

Def the wrong section man LOL. you will find the same peeps hanging out here, reading their stuff its pretty funny if you got nothing to do like me at times while I wait for my M4.

I was also wondering if there is a way to AVOID the problem before it happens and also avoid the need to repair the leather.

I'd say a great deal!
