The website is crap.....forget using it. It's about 3 weeks behind and has old data. Call the 800 BMW center to get a live person to speak with about status.
I ordered a 2012 BMW X6 5.0 on March 5. Dealer had a 2012 x6 3.5 allocated to him and changed it to my specification for a 5.0. Production week, according to the dealer is W14 (April 4). I called the 800 number today...the car started production on Monday March 28 ...week 13....one week earlier. I hope to have my 2012 X6 5.0 by mid April. BY the way, when I go to the web site and enter my production order number for an X6 5.0, it still says 3.5 which was the original allocation. Call the 800 number and go through the prompts... 800-831-1117 press 2 and then you can follow the prompts to get teh recorded update and then press 0 to speak to a customer service person. Good luck! |

X6 in Production
Thanks for the info on the 800 number. The website has no useful information.
My X6 which was ordered on 3/12 and is scheduled to be completed on April 5. I presume I should take delivery about a week later. I lucked out in the ordering process. Because I waited I got a 2012 model. |

I have a 2012 X6M on order. The BMW website says that it is an ActiveHybrid X6! I called the 800 number and spoke with a very nice customer service representative. He confirmed my car type and that I'm not yet scheduled for daily production--but I'm hoping for the second week of April! So, calling is definitely preferable to the website.

Glina--I ordered on Saturday 3/5 with the dealer. The dealer placed my order with BMW NA on Monday 3/7, and I received my production number and my Week 14 build estimation on that same day. Hope that helps!

Glina... There are two scenarios.
1. If you order and the dealer tells you he will Modify an allocated car already assigned to his dealership, you can get te production order number immediately. I ordered on 3/5/2012 where the dealer modified a 3.5X6 to my 5.0 spec. Ordered 3/5/2012...production order number assigned same day, build schedule was week 14 (APr. 4) and I just found out they pulled it in to week 13 with scheduled completion Apr. 5. I should get it a week later. 2. If you order from scratch..no allocation, the process could take about 1 week longer for BMW AG to accept the ordre and then schedule a production week...which also could be out 1 or 2 months depending on their backlog. Whatever they tell you for dates, they usually end up pulling it in a week or so if the car is sold unit. Hope this helps. |
