Can some one tell me the differences between 10' 11' 12's?
Im looking for used x6M or x5M at the moment..
What are the difference between years? I see the tail lights are different.. what else? Any known problems? |

not exactly sure to be honest. yes the taillights changed to full LED for 2011 i think. I know they increased the MSRP midway through 2012 slightly other than that nothing new. i think you should pick up a 2010 if you want a good price and if you dont mind the old tail lights, but if you can get an 11 why not since its newer and has the updated lights

and make sure you get a CPO warranty or a 3rd party warranty. last thing you want to do is pay for parts out of pocket when something on this truck breaks.. which is bound to happen at some point

The new taillight is not really "full" LED
The brake light and turn signals are still bulbs. I wish that the LEDs are something more like the new 5 or 7 series. |

for X5, the 2011 was the LCI model which also got the updated idrive, no change in 12 except the DRL rings are LED ( white )and they just reconfigured the packages, and for 13 you can also get the LED headlights.
For X6 11 has the better rear view camera and updated idrive vs 10, 12 is the same, and 13 is the LCI with LED taillights and available LED headlights. Just to name a few. If you are purchasing a pre-owned X5M/X6M...i would highly recommend one with under 50K miles, get extended maintenance and get it Certified. Keep in mind, not all pre-owned M cars/SAVs can be certified, even though if they are still under factory warranty. If the original owner missed the first break-in service ( 1200 miles service ) BMW won't certify them. |

The M has always had the 6 speed auto. The 35 and 50 got the 8 speed trans for 2011. All three got the updated iDrive and rear camera for 2010.
