What programming does the dealer do?

i was just wondering if anyone have a list of what the dealer means by having the car programmed, like wat is going to be programmed. thxx

Assuming the car is already in your posession and you took it in for service, the dealer is updating the software to the latest version. Often times new updates come out from BMW and the dealer will reprogram the car.

thx for the information. the dealer told me to come in because he says they will program the car to my needs. like if i want drl, what the key does, etc

Hmm, typically they do that type of programming when you take delivery of the car. When I picked up my truck on Saturday they went through all of those things with me and did it right there on the spot. Actually, iDrive is where you find all of those options.
