Ask them whether the HPFP has been changed! Should have been a warranty recall.

high Pressure Fuel Pump

I was driving my car over New Years when it started sputtering and went to reduced power mode and. I thought it was going to stop altogether. I managed to limp it into my dealer (about 250 miles with few choices).

Anyhow they confirmed that the high pressure fuel pump had failed but also said it was the first failure they had seen on a V8 (Nov 2012 new delivery X6 5.0 now with 29k). I had them do a service and change the tires amongst other things but my high pressure fuel pump was changed within a day. No problems in the last 400/500 miles - 2 days

Car is still in shop. They are still working on it. Just want to make sure that when they say its ready Again we can ask if everything had been checked or what all options could be.

Thank you all for your ideas in experience help. We will post when we find out what they have to say when they think they have it fixed this time.
