Strange noise X5 3.0D

Hi guys. I just bought a 2008 X5 3.0D diesel today and all way great on test drive and 2 hour journey home. However, after a 15 minute gentle drive home this evening this weird noise started. Sounds a bit like a pump, to the right hand side of the engine (as you look at it from on front of car). Engine seemed to be very hot too. Any ideas what this is? |
