Good price, considering I bought my 35i pretty much fully loaded for 70 back in Aug '10... Nice find if you ask me

I purchased back in Nov 2011 my 2011 X5M (new) for 15%+ off MSRP ($100K). This vehicle had full 4-year warranty & zero miles (well 13 miles on it).

Find out how much warranty is left. Chances are the vehicle was "punched".

Which dealership? I had another dealership giving me a similar deal except their unit had 1-year warranty used up already since it had been punched.

Punched? Do you mean "hit" as in an accident? I guess the answer may also shed light on why "punching" impacts warranty.

"Punched" means dealer list vehicle as sold enabling them to received factory "trump" money. When doing this, they start the factory warranty on the vehicle; hence the term "punched". There are different levels of being punched; some trigger the clock starting the factory warranty, while others may not.

If your vehicle was "punched" in Feb of 2011 for example, and you purchased in Feb 2012, if they started the factory warranty then you have lost 1 year out of the 4 year bumper to bumper warranty. Losing 25% of the factory service & maintenance warranty should be factored into your deal.

Interesting term. I guess the car I am driving was "punched" by that definition as mine was a "BMW executive" car that was still owned by BMW for the first three months (and 1,800 miles) of it's life before they sold it to it's initial owner. I am the second "owner" of this car according to DMV. In my case, they basically started the warranty as soon as it rolled onto the lot.
