Aluminium Running board cleaner

Whats the best product out there to clean the aluminum running boards on E70?
whatever i use, they do clean up good but 2-3 days later the old spots start showing up again?

Let me know if anyone found a better way to clean them clean for a longer period. the worst part is to remove the black plugs for a better cleaning process.

Mothers MAG polish always works great on aluminum. It takes a little bit of elbow grease but the shine last longer than any other product.

Autosol. I used on F15 running boards, does not stain the black inserts.
Note: it does say not to use on silver or anodized aluminum.
It works great on cleaning the carbon from the exhaust tips.
This product is sold at the Welt, same packaging!
