X5 35d road test
Hello everybody,
Here's a link to a review I did of the X5 35d in August. I got the car for a week (during the hurricane, no less) courtesy of BMW's press fleet and enjoyed every minute. As a dyed-in-the-wool diesel nut I found the power and economy impressive, and am hoping to see more BMW diesels offered in the US soon. I'd welcome feedback from X5 diesel owners. http://www.examiner.com/hartford-car...ferings-review Will |

I think his fuel mileage is off...26 mpg hwy seems low, at least I would hope so.
Others I know say they get 30 mpg city/hwy doesn't matter. Heck I got 21-22 Kentucky to Maine and back at 80mph and thats a 5.0 with wife, kids, 100+ lbs of gear, and a 80 lb hitch attached. Window sticker says 14/20 for the 5.0 and I get 15/21-22...not to bad Mr. BMW...not to bad at all. When I purchased it I figured they meant at "55mph"...Nope! |

26 highway is the EPA highway rating on the Monroney. I saw mid-20's on the highway, but the truck wasn't broken in yet (only had about 2k miles) In-town driving showed 19-20 according to the computer

I average 19 in combined driving and mid-20's on the highway cruising at 80mph.
