me too! i wish the X6 was the X3 replacment for the younger/smaller/active family with the SAME price point as the X3. i dont' require all that HP/Tq, i can deal with a NA 3.0 engine.

He is not lying about it. I live in Dallas and actually saw it last week in the sold car bay when I was there for the Ultimate Drive. Looks great!

I would disagree as well about the user friendliness of the iDrive. My previous BMW was a 2006 E60 and I had the thing licked by the time I drove the car home (170 mile drive). IMHO I think Acura (Honda) has the best interface for GPS, etc and the Germans have a little ways to go but not in the least is the system a disappointment as most of the reviews always seem to mention (Used to own 2001 CL Type S). I really think the problem is that their cars (BMW) or so close to perfection they have to pick on something, or most of them are already ripe and prime with age and they're still getting a grasp on the computer thing. Most kids can sit in an advanced aircraft cockpit and figure basic functions out in no time these days... ....Oh yeah congrats on your new purchase. I had been on the fence about getting a X6 or the M3. I wish I could afford both! |

Here are pics
Okay - I've been traveling and haven't had time to do any more driving, but did want to post a few pics as many posters requested. Here it is in vermillion red. I still love the color.
And I didn't mean to start a whole thread on the virtues or lack thereof of I-drive. Just my opinion, the human factors on the interface are severely lacking compared to other devices and other cars I've owned. With that said, it still works, and works well - it just is not as intuitive as others. Can't believe some on this thread (like 100plus1) are so cynical and actually question whether or not there was an actual purchase. Jeesh - get a life. The car is real, and yes it's mine, and yes I still love it. Thanks Shenard for backing me up on the purchase. You're buying from the same dealership, so you knew the deal was real. Hope you enjoy yours. I'm enjoying mine. Now if I could just stay in town for a few days to get more driving in! |

when u see the car in person it really looks big , esspecialy the rear end
X1 is coming , dont know when , and I dont get it why X1 at all? should BMW go for something like Merc GL class? something that is beyond ML in terms of size , the X6 is a class of its own I think , guess we'll ave to wait till X7 then |

Hey Dallas thanks for the pics! I'm really lovin' that thing man!
And I assume 100plus1 is only joking (could be wrong tho) with his post. We had/ have a running gag here, posting "no pics = didn't happen" it's all in fun! Enjoy your new ride!

Anyway, there clearly is no right or wrong regarding a single knob vs. jap touch screens. Some of us like a single knob and minimal buttons, while some prefer a million tiny buttons and wading through umpteen menus on a smudged-up screen. Quote:

And your comments show how little you know about ergonomics and good design. Sure, an intelligent person can learn to operate almost anything, but that doesn't mean it is well designed. The onus for good design is on the designer, not the user. I have no trouble using the NAV system in my X5, but it is still a crappy design. |

I shouldn't have to know the specific category of a POI to see if it exists in the database. That makes no sense. 2. My wife and I leased BMW's last year and in the last 9 months of ownership I have driven more service loaners and been without my car more days than in the prevoius 3 years of our Lexus and Infiniti leases. It's a fact, our japanese cars were significantly more reliable than BMW. P.S. - I'm a BMW fanboy. |
