Angry X5d Now Comes with Gearshift Paddles

Just noticed on BMW UK both X5 40d SE and M-Sport now comes with gearshift paddles either as part of Dynamic Pack or as standard. Not too sure about 30d as the car builder is down at the moment.

I placed the order too early and missed this great option!!! Absolutely fuming at myself for not being patient and WAIT. Just imagine how much fun you could get from this brilliant 8spd gearbox!

I had paddles on my 335i. They were ambidextrous and silly, so I installed the M3 -/+ paddles.

They were fun for like 5 minutes. Never used them again.

This is one of those things where you complain about not having just because you don't have it. You're not missing much.

I disagree.

We have them in the ML and the F, aside from being more fun and engaging, they're nice to have when you want to highway pass and get in the right gear immediately instead of waiting for the tranny to drop gears and load up. When buying, this was the one thing that I couldn't figure out why BMW omitted them. They were already on the X6 so it made no sense the X5 didn't get them too.

I was annoyed only because I could have them if I waited a bit longer. I cant think of much time that I actually need them, especially on a low-rev but very torquey diesel engine.
