Buying 2008 BMW X5 3.0si any comment, Please help
Hi,
I am thinking to pick up a used 2008 BMW X5 3.0si with 70K mile from a private seller without any warranty. Fully loaded without sport package, what's a reasonable price for it and what should i look out for? Is there any common issue for the 2008 X5? Is X5 a dependable car to buy? Please advise. Thank you |

I'm a big fan of my truck.
Best advice that I can give you is to take it to a mechanic for a private inspection. Drop a couple hundred bucks and have them go over it with a fine tooth comb. Also with that money, get a carfax report on the VIN to make sure it's never been in a huge issue like water damage. As for price, look at autotrader, kbb, etc. and see what others are going for and then feel out the price from there. |

Mechanically the X5 from those years work awesome. However, be wary of the electrical on these cars.

Some common issues that I have had fixed on my truck:
-Rear bumper has gap between body and bumper. Ripples can be seen in the bumper from behind. (This would be pricey to fix non-warranty) -Steering wheel trim peeling -Water in the rear tailgate housing Those are the common ones that I have experienced that I know of. I've had other work done, but that appears to be random failures here and there. |
