2006 4.4i or 2005 4.8is

Hey first time posting on the X forums I already have a e92 I'm looking to pick up a X5 04-06 I found a few ones I like that were within my price range but I dont know which way to go I really want a V8 but cant decide if i should go with a loaded 06 4.4i or a loaded 05 4.8is what do you guys think.

or if you have any another advice i would like to hear it...price range is 25-30k what im most worried about is the reliability and maintenance

Thanks in advance

I had a 4.8is with Dinan S1 package, drove the truck hard and was doing a lot of commuting from NJ to CT and about 60 miles a day on top of that.... Had no major issues with the truck, very very reliable except bent rim, new brakes(disks and rotors), and needed to replace airbag susp that you usually only find on "is" X5 models at 80k miles. I had the truck for about 4 years (48k- 90k miles; bought it CPO) and those were the only 'major' issues I had to deal with. The 4.8is is awesome, however, I would definitely recommend getting a warranty (pays for itself) Hope this somewhat helps, good luck!

I had one more question. If the car is already out of warranty can I get an aftermarket warranty or BMW warranty? If yes what websites can I go to check for pricing?
